Blue Bird: This is an unexpected sales opportunity that has a high chance of turning into profitable business.
BRAD: This book lists every UK publication including magazines, newspapers, vertical publications etc. It also contains key information i.e. ?ABC figures?, advertising deadlines etc and is one of the most useful tools available if you are looking to place advertising or embark on DIY PR.

Commission Plans: This is how a salesperson is paid for their efforts. It is strongly advised that you include a minimum contribution and ensure that if you plotted a graph of gross margin and percentage of target it would create an incremental curve.
CRM: ?Customer Relationship Management? This is software that organises all your sales contacts, schedules activities and is used in targeted marketing campaigns. This is vital to all sales operations and there are many packages to choose from costing anything from ?80.00 per user upwards i.e. ACT! Goldmine etc. Previously known as TCM.
Double Bubble: Sales slang for two people being paid out the full amount of commission on a specific deal / incentive or the same person being awarded double the amount of commission.

This is often the opening statement of any form of communication and is predominantly used in lead generation and marketing activities.
Farmers: These are sales people who have great skills in getting repeat orders and maximising revenue streams from existing accounts. It is very rare that a good ?Farmer? will be good at winning new clients.
Gross Margin: The difference between your buy price and your sell price.

OTE: ?On Target Earnings? This is how much the sales person will earn if they hit their sales target. Sand Bagging: This is a tactic used by sales people who hold back orders so that as many as possible fall in the same month or quarter and hence they over achieve the target to win a large Over Rider. If you are new to internet marketing, you may be wondering if it is possible to create an income when you are so fresh from the starting gates. You absolutely can make an internet income before your business becomes profitable or you have your own product with Affiliate Marketing. This is how it works?
1. Write your email so it tells a story and that story leads into the product.
2.Tell your list about your experience with the product and how it has benefited you.
3.Make sure you include your affiliate link in the email. Three times seems to be the magic number for affiliate links within an email.
4.If you only promote good products that relate to your list, they will come to trust your recommendations.
OK, you?re thinking, I?m a new Internet Marketer, I don?t have a list. Then you need to work on that. There are resources out there that can help you with that, like the Email Magic free 30 day list building course. Make list building your #1 priority. But never fear, you can still make money with Affiliate Marketing while you are growing your list. That?s right, despite what the gurus tell you, you don?t have to have a huge list to make money online. A small list of buyers is wirth much more than a huge list of non-buyers. Right? I learned that from Connie Ragan Green aka the Marketing Madwoman She taught me to treat the list you have like gold, be authentic and show integrity. They?ll buy from you if you do.
Social Media Marketing is another great way to make money with other people?s products. The same principles apply. Show your networks you are someone trustworthy with integrity, only promote what you believe in and add value to what you promote. Don?t blast your product links all over, but let people know you are there to help. Build relationships, communicate, converse. Let others get to know you.
Aweber gives you a direct link to your email marketing broadcasts so you can tweet or post those links for others to read the same promotional emails you send to your list. The internet income potential is limitless even if you never have your own products. Be creative, helpful and be a benefit to others. Learn from others more successful than you. Be an internet marketer with integrity and you will succeed.

Major reforms to the Australian business visa program have been announced and will apply from 1 July 2012 coinciding the new DIAC SkillSelect.
The key changes to the Business Skills visa program ? now named the Business Innovation and Investment program are:
Skilled Migrant Selection Model To Be Integrated
From 1 July 2012, the business migration program will be integrated to the SkillSelect system. SkillSelect requires applicants to first lodge an EOI(Expression of Interest). The Department of Immigration will then assess the EOIs which have been submitted and invite the best applicants to make a visa application. As a result, from 1 July 2012 people will not be able to apply directly for business migration, they must first make an EOI and receive an invitation from the Department of Immigration.
Number of Visa Subclasses Will Be Reduced From 13 To 3 From 1 July 2012, there will only be 3 business migration subclasses: ? Business Talent (Subclass 132) ? a direct pathway to permanent residence for top level business people ? Provisional Business Innovation and Investment (Subclass 188) ? a 4-year provisional visa ? Permanent Business Innovation and Investment (Subclass 888) ? the permanent stage of the provisional subclass 188 visa
New Innovation Points Test A new innovation points test has been created for the provisional subclass 188 visa which gives points for: ? Age ? English Language Ability ? Qualifications ? Experience in Business or Investment ? Net Personal Assets ? Business Turnover ? Special Endorsement by State/Territory Government
The applicants for provisional business visas will now need to meet a points test requirement. The new system will seek to advantage applicants who are more innovative and more likely to succeed in business in Australia as SkillSelect will give highest priority to people with the highest points score.
Transitional Arrangements Provisional business visa holders (ie subclasses 160-165) will still be able to apply for permanent residence through the current system (ie through subclass 890-893). The same applies to anyone who applies for the current subclasses as they will be assessed under the current visa criteria prior to 1 July 2012. It appears that provisional business visa holders will not need to go through SkillSelect for their permanent stage in particular. In the near future, though not specifically mentioned, it is quite possible that the Established Business in Australia Subclass 845 visa and the Regional Established Business in Australia Subclass 846 visa may be abolished.
Summary With these change in the business skills program, it is clear that the Australian government is trying to elevate the standard for business migration. Business turnover will be higher along with personal net assets and applicants will receive points for showing a higher degree of innovation raise. As with the SkillSelect requirement, this is to ensure that only the most highly qualified applicants will be able to make applications for business migration.
IU bisexuality studies focus on health, behavior and identityPublic release date: 29-May-2012 [ | E-mail | Share ]

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Bisexuality, often stigmatized, typically has been lumped with homosexuality in previous public health research. But when Indiana University scientists recently focused on the health issues and behaviors specific to behaviorally bisexual men and women, they found tremendous variety, and that commonly used labels, such as heterosexual and homosexual, can sometimes do more harm than good.
Bisexual, gay, lesbian, queer, men who have sex with men (MSM), women who have sex with women (WSW) -- these are just some of the terms commonly used to characterize sexual partnering and attraction in recent research. Behavioral science researchers have long known that socially constructed sexual identity "labels" (like "gay") are often not always reflective of the diversity and complexity of an individual's sexual behaviors. A study led by Vanessa Schick, assistant research scientist at the Center for Sexual Health Promotion at IU Bloomington, found that how women relate to their label could influence their health.
Schick's study involved 2,578 women who reported a history of attraction or sexual encounters with women. The Web-based survey asked about mental, physical and sexual wellness. In the paper "Bidentity: Sexual Behavior/Identity Congruence and Women's Sexual, Physical and Mental Well-Being," Schick reports finding that the women who identified themselves as bisexual or lesbian reported the best health when their sexual identity matched their recent sexual history.
Schick, however, warned against interpreting this as evidence that women should declare a sexual identity that corresponds to their sexual behavior. Instead, she points to the experiences of women who labeled themselves as "queer," a sexual identity that is sometimes endorsed by individuals who want to reject traditional labels that suggest the gender of their sexual partners.
"Unlike the other women in the study, the mental, physical and sexual well-being of queer-identified women was not related to the gender of their recent sexual partners," she said.
"This suggests that, instead of encouraging women to adopt labels that are more descriptive of their behavior, we should be more flexible in the behavioral expectations that we attach to these labels."
For a variety of reasons, men and women often identify openly or just to themselves with a label that is different from their sexual history. One such reason is biphobia, the stigma and discrimination that bisexual individuals experience from both heterosexual and homosexual individuals.
Brian Dodge, associate professor in the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation and associate director of the Center for Sexual Health Promotion, found in his study on sexual health among bisexual men that factors associated with biphobia contributed to feelings of isolation and social stress reported by many of his study participants. Dodge's qualitative study, which is funded by the National Institutes of Health, is based on in-depth interviews with 75 bisexual men from the Indianapolis area, ages 19 to 70, equally divided among Latino participants, non-Latino black participants and non-Latino white participants.
"There have been large quantitative studies that examined the mental health status of men who have sex with both men and women," Dodge said, "but no one has sat down and talked with these men about it. When we did, men were saying explicitly that being bisexual, not having a community to be involved with, not having people they could disclose to, homosexual or heterosexual, was tied to their experiences of adverse mental health."
These are just some of the findings in the special issue of Journal of Bisexuality, published last week. Guest edited by Dodge and Schick, the special issue includes articles that stray from the more typical focus on sexual risk and sexually transmitted infections and covering topics including physical health and wellness, sexual health, and mental health among people whose identities or behaviors indicate bisexuality. Researchers contributing to the issue come from such institutions as Emory University, George Mason University, Columbia University, George Washington University and the IU School of Medicine.
"The issue gives a nice snapshot of how diverse bisexuality is among both men and women," Dodge said.
Here are more findings from Dodge's and Schick's studies:
Schick's paper "Variations in the Sexual Repertoires of Bisexually Identified Women in the United States and the United Kingdom" examined the diversity of sexual behavior reported by bisexual women. When looking at their recent sexual experiences, the women were divided almost evenly as having no recent sexual partners, having only a male sexual partner, only a female sexual partner, or both male and female sexual partners. This study involved 710 bisexually identified women, making it one of the largest studies of its kind. "Like all people, bisexual women are living their sexual lives in diverse ways," Schick said. "Some women may choose to have both male and female partners while others may engage in sexual behavior with only men or women. Other bisexually identified women may decide not to have any sexual partners at all. They don't simply fit into one mold. This contradicts the hypersexualized representations of bisexual women that we often find within the media."
For both papers in the special issue, Schick and her research team gathered more detailed information than other studies because of the variety of questions asked. Instead of asking whether they used a sex toy, for example, they asked about five different kinds of toys. When they asked about behaviors such as oral sex, they asked who was giving and receiving separately for men and women. Overall, they found that bisexual women tended to engage in parallel behaviors with men and women. In other words, they were similarly as likely to engage in oral sex with a male partner as they were to engage in oral sex with a female partner.
In Dodge's study, men were asked to report a wide range of sexual behaviors with both male and female partners based on measures developed for the National Survey of Sexual Health and Behavior, a recent study conducted by the Center for Sexual Health Promotion examining the sexual behaviors and experiences of a nationally representative sample of more than 6,000 individuals in the United States. Such detailed data on the specific oral, vaginal, anal and other sexual behaviors in which these men engage with both male and female partners have been absent from scientific literature. The paper "Sexual Behaviors and Experiences Among Behaviorally Bisexual Men in the Midwestern United States: Implications for Interventions," written by postdoctoral research fellow Omar Martinez of the HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies at Columbia University, explores the unique sexual behaviors and experiences of bisexual Latino men in the study.
In Dodge's paper "Individual and Social Factors Related to Mental Health Concerns Among Bisexual Men in the Midwestern United States," participants reported mental health concerns tied to both individual and social struggles associated with being bisexual, particularly the isolation and lack of support and perceived stigma associated with bisexuality among men. They reported feeling they would automatically receive negative reactions from both homosexual and heterosexual family, friends and other people in their social networks. As a result, participants were not likely to disclose their bisexuality, further increasing their invisibility and isolation.
In large part, men in Dodge's study tended to use condoms with male partners for HIV/STI prevention purposes and with female partners for pregnancy prevention purposes. Women were seen as being "safer" in terms of STI transmission risk. In the paper "Subjective Sexual Experiences of Behaviorally Bisexual Men in the Midwestern United States: Sexual Attraction, Sexual Behaviors and Condom Use," authored by IU doctoral candidate Phillip Schnarrs, participants describe the patterns and meanings of their sexual repertoires with both male and female partners.
Dodge said a better understanding of men's sexual behaviors and experiences will lead to more effective health programming for bisexual men and their male and female sexual partners.
"Because the content of most current sexual health programs for gay and bisexual men focus only on their behaviors and experiences with male partners, interventions are urgently needed that are specifically tailored to the wide range of sexual behaviors and experiences which bisexual men share with both male and female partners," he said.

The Five Sullivan Brothers. Photo courtesy the National Archives and Records Administration.
On Memorial Day, it seems only fitting to remember the family most famous for its personal loss during a war. This family happens to be from my hometown.
As a native of Waterloo, Iowa, I grew up hearing the name of the ?Five Sullivan Brothers? just because we had a convention center named in their honor. It wasn?t until years later I realized why. Perhaps you already know the story?these five brothers enlisted in the Navy after the attack on Pearl Harbor with just one condition. They wanted to be able to serve together.
They were granted their request, and served together until they all died together, as well, when the U.S.S. Juneau was torpedoed by the Japanese and sunk in November 1942. Suddenly the Sullivan family of Waterloo, Iowa, was given the unwelcome distinction of bearing the largest single loss for a military family in history, a distinction they retain to this day.
In 2008, Waterloo opened the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum in their honor, just one portion of which lets visitors walk through a replica of the Sullivan home and flip through a scrapbook of their family photos and newspaper articles. It?s an intimate family atmosphere with a crackling radio program in the background. So even though my co-author, Karen Whiting, was writing the World War 2 stories for our book, (Stories of Faith and Courage from the Home Front), she let me write this one contribution from my own hometown: Carrying On. (Read the excerpt here and find it on August 3 in the book.)
If you?re interested in the full story of the Sullivans, check out the book We Band of Brothers: The Sullivans and World War 2, or the movie, The Fighting Sullivans, made in 1944.

It was an interesting week for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDEX: ^DJI??) , which ebbed and flowed over the past five trading days to finish slightly in the black for the week. To no one's surprise, Europe was a main catalyst as investors continue to fear that Greek elections scheduled for June 17 could further push the country toward a euro exit. Contagion is a main part of the problem; the possibility of Greece leaving the euro has investors concerned about implications for larger European countries like Spain and Italy.
But it wasn't all bad news on the week, as some upbeat reports about the state of the U.S. economy helped overshadow problems in Europe. The Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index rose to 79.3 in May from 76.4 in April, showing that consumers are the most confident they've been about the economy since October 2007. A couple of upbeat housing reports also helped push markets up this week; new home sales increased more than expected in April and housing prices improved as well.
Here's how the three major indices performed over the past five trading days:

Turning to individual stocks, Home Depot (NYSE: HD??) was the Dow's largest gainer this week, finishing up 5.1%. The positive housing data certainly helped the home improvement retailer, as did a disappointing earnings report from main rival Lowe's. Home Depot has impressed investors by taking market share and growing same-store sales faster than Lowe's.
PC giant Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ??) was the third-biggest Dow gainer this week, up 4.1%, pushed higher after the company posted solid earnings and announced a massive restructuring program. HP reported non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.98, beating analyst estimates of $0.91. But it seems investors were most optimistic about the prospect of huge cost savings and increased organic growth at the company, as HP announced it would save $3 billion to $3.5 billion in fiscal year 2014 by eliminating 27,000 jobs.
Pfizer (NYSE: PFE??) was the Dow's biggest decliner this week, dropping 1.9%. The company announced Thursday that a U.S. health advisory panel had issued a split vote on a Pfizer drug designed to treat a rare neurodegenerative disease. Still, the pharmaceutical giant has slightly outperformed the Dow year-to-date, up 2.3%.
Outside the Dow, Facebook (Nasdaq: FB??) continues to capture investors' interest. The social-networking giant finished the week down 10.2%, but was able to rally midweek after dropping 11% on Monday. There remain serious questions about the company and its underwriters' handling of its IPO, leading financial regulators to announce that they will review the circumstances surrounding the botched IPO. There have been reports that analysts at the group of investment banks bringing the company public lowered estimates of Facebook's future revenue before the offering, and didn't disclose the information to the public. Facebook's stock has now declined 16.5% since the company went public last Friday.
Even beyond the terrible handling of its IPO, Facebook is facing some serious questions about its long-term prospects. Chief among them is the fact that the Internet advertising-based business model is a difficult one, and Facebook continues to struggle to make money off its mobile platform. That's why we've created a new report, "Forget Facebook -- Here's the Tech IPO You Should Be Buying," which details a much better social-media stock that has a longer runway for growth than Facebook. The report won't be available forever, so?click here to get access today -- it's totally free.

Our service men and women fight bravely for our freedom overseas. Upon their return to this country, they should not have to fight to keep their family pets.In January 2009, the Bush administration issued a memorandum that prohibited a number of breeds of dogs, as well as any dog mixed with those breeds, from living on any Army installation in the country. Most Air Force and Navy installations prohibit dogs based on breed or appearance as well. Today, service men and women are being forced to give up their family pets or move to cost-prohibitive housing away from the military installation merely because of their pet?s appearance. Families are being torn apart because of this breed discriminatory policy.
Please follow the links below for a simple way to take action for our brave men and women and their pets.
