Better Audio and Visual for More Effective Communication - Free ...

Audio and visual are two different things. Audio is used by our hearing organs, our ears, to be able to generate information from the sound waves that we hear. On the other hand, visuals are used by our senses for seeing, our eyes, to pick up knowledge from what we see. If these two senses are used separately, information gathered by our brain and nerves are jumbled up into something less organized. But if taken together, like what IVCi did in order to develop their innovative communication technology, information gathered would be more easily understood and be more meaningful.

Take into consideration the early ages of our universe, when uneducated cave men relied basically on their eyes and on what they were able to see only. They cannot communicate with each other properly because they had no words to speak. They had no language. That was chaos.

Think of music. Listening to music is different from being able to see a music video. Listening to music is just depending merely on the lyrics of the song. But, once you see a music video, where the actors involved were able to convey to the audience the deeper meaning of the words of the song, you get a clearer idea on what the song is really all about.

There are things only words can express. Yet, there are other things that words just cannot convey. That is why there is always the need for facial expressions, hand gestures and body movements. Did an actor ever just recite his lines plainly with no facial gestures and body expressions whatsoever? No! He would surely use different examples of body language to be able to express better what he is saying and feeling.

Also, in communication, both audio and visual are important. But technology keeps on improving and improving to be able to offer people innovation that would help make life easier for them. First was the telephone which conveys messages from person to another person, but these messages were just plain audio messages. A telephone user can never see the other person he/she is talking to. On a phone, one would not readily know if he/she was really talking to the person he/she intended to talk to. On a phone, the person can never see the facial expression the other person would be using while saying the words that he/she just heard. Telephones conveyed only sounds.

But this need of people for both audio and video in better, effective and productive communication has been the basis of the development of video conferencing, especially for those persons distant from one another. Now, persons, even if far and distant from one another, are now able to communicate with both words and with visuals with the use of video conferencing.
