Debra Eschmeyer ? BAO Bad Ass Legend ? BAO Food and Drink

This week we salute Debra Eschmeyer, the woman who co-founded FoodCorps with the vision to see a world without child obesity and diet related diseases.? FoodCorps provides low-income children with access to farm fresh foods in school cafeterias .? However, while building the program, Debra recognized that giving children healthy food at school is not enough.? Therefore, FoodCorps also provides hands-on nutrition education about what healthy food is, and where it comes from through school gardens.? Children who participate in the program leave with knowledge that empowers them to continue to make healthy food choices outside of their school cafeterias.? For taking bold steps towards improving the food system for the next generation, we have named Debra Eschmeyer this week?s BAO Bad Ass Legend.
