14 Startups in Asia That Caught Our Eye

1. iCarsclub | Singapore


iCarsclub is an online marketplace that allows car owners to monetize their ?free? car time through its car sharing scheme.


2. Cacoo | Japan


With 600,000 users already onboard, it will be interesting to see how Cacoo plans to maintain (and increase) its user-base around the world, especially in Indonesia.


3. Kickfolio | Australia


Kickfolio, a Melbourne-based startup that allows you to create kickass portfolios within 30 seconds, has closed its seed round of $50,000 from PalGenesis and been selected to join 500 Startups, which brings another $50,000.


4. Cinemacraft | Singapore, Japan


Cinemacraft launched Videogram, a service that gives users a pictorial summary of the a video using an almost comic book-style, multi-panel display.


5. ChatWork | Japan


Japan?s ChatWork is an easy-to-use business communication and collaboration platform. The functions are simple, allowing businesses to set up private chat discussion groups which can be accessed via PC and mobile apps.


6. Cubie | Taiwan


Taiwan-based Cubie raised $1.1 million in series A seed funding from a group of investors, including B Dash Ventures, NTT Investment Partners, Gumi Ventures, and 500 Startups.


7. Mogujie | China


China?s top pinterest clone mogujie confirms Series C funding and is now valued at $200 Million.


8. NowFloats | India


NowFloats lets you post your thoughts or photos and pins them to your location ? and to keep the information fresh, these auto-expire after just seven days.


9. Balloon | Japan


Balloon has received 100 million yen ($1.25 million) in funding from Nissay Capital.


10. Anquanbao | China


The Chinese online security outsourcing company Anquanbao.com has secured series B investment, for an undisclosed sum, led by Northern Light Ventures.


11. Puffant | China

12. Sprooki | Singapore


Sprooki raised SG$590,000 (about $483,000) from Get2Volume and the National Research Foundations?s Technology Incubator Scheme.


13. iCook.tw | Taiwan


CyberyAgent Ventures invested in iCook for an undisclosed sum. iCook is focused on recipes, and provides a Pinterest-esque platform for people to share their tastiest concoctions.


14. Crowdworks | Japan


Crowdworks, a Tokyo-based startup providing a crowdsourcing platform that matches engineers and designers with job postings, announced this week that it has raised a total amount of $3.75 million (300 million yen) from Itochu Technology Ventures, Digital Garage, and Suneight Investment.
